Thank you for your wishes, and have a fruitful Lent!
I was truly blessed to get so many birthday wishes 2 days ago. Really. Having so many of you thinking about me is such a grace, and I don't know how to thank you enough.
My 29th birthday was a very quiet one, a perfect time for reflection. I have always promised myself that I will take lots of risks to achieve my dreams before 30 and, if I do not succeed, that I would adjust my plans and advise accordingly. Many of my friends say that turning 30 is the time a man should not be afraid to take risks. My oldest and best friend Ineya, who turned 30 last October, brilliantly demonstrates it to me everyday.
My birthday happened to be on a Mardi Gras. An open invitation to eat and party sick, to feast before entering Lent the day after. Nevertheless, I chose to reflect back on my last year, then project myself into the last mile before turning 30. This Lent will therefore be the perfect continuation of my birthday. It will be 40 days of meditation in prayer, 40 days of asking the right questions to myself, 40 days of quest of the best path to achieve my truest dreams.
Thank you all for your birthday wishes and, if you are Christian, have a good Lent ahead.
